"Are you displeased with my proposal, my Lady?" Jungkook asked, almost as a challenge to the small girl in front of him.
"Of course not, Your Grace. I'm just intrigued. I'm not the type of woman a man in a position such as yours would chose as a wife", the girl replied.
The truth is that Seong Mi-Sun was terrified. Living with her father was a nightmare, of course, but she had absolutely no idea what to expect from a man such as the Duke. He was fearless, feared, powerful and merciless. While her, on the other hand, was nothing of the sort. She was shy, reserved, scared of everything and couldn't really pick one thing she was actually good at.
She just couldn't understand what such powerful man would want to do with her. Was he playing and toying her?
"I have been living the court life ever since I was born. I was pretty much raised in the castle. I have met every single court woman and they are absolutely all the same. Charming, sweet and giggly. But empty, they are just shells", the Duke explained to the terrified girl. The fear in her eyes almost amused him "But something tells me you are different, Mi-Sun. That you are not just a shell. And that's why I chose you as my wife."
