A coming of age story: a little white girl runs away from home in Botswana, Africa - on the same day as the Rwandan Genocide. Her journey moves her through familiar spaces in an unfamiliar. She is alone. As the truths of Africa bounce off her, she realizes her place in society is different than others. An existential crisis ensues about her class and race. Her courage is tested as day turns into night and as the truths about humanity are slowly revealed to her through the people she meets. Her gardner finds her and brings her home, forever changed. Forever in his debt.

This is the story of Egypt Trinity James a newly 17 year old who was born and ran from her home that's located in a third world country. She ran from her home at 12 after a group of dangerous men was sent to kill her entire family including her due to a large amount of debt. She finds her self in america after a long journey and ends up adopted by a family who took her in legally. But after a few other complications as of recently, she had to move in with another family in a whole new state miles and miles away. She seeks a healthy home which she could take shelter in and also starting at a new school where she meets very... interesting people. She ends up getting sucked in to that regular high school life when in reality she's still on the run from these horrid people who still want her dead.
