Kalmin means manly and strong. The name was given to him by his parents as a prayer more than a choice. A prayer that they hoped would be granted. For their son to be strong through a time where weakness was not an option. He definitely needed to be strong in this world alone now.

Aurora grew up in the same generation, only two streets down. Yet in a different world. In her naïve Italian family her childhood consisted of living in a bustling small flat eating pasta and living for the moment. That's why just her and her brother were left.

In 22nd century New York the world is the opposite of happy. A deadly virus took over slowly, that's why they didn't see it carefully taking out populations of people until only the strongest were left.

Now only young people survive, battling with the aftermath of the virus. The world has turned to ruin and all they have left to do it keep going.
