Reverie

Longer description below. Basically, this is a story with a similar setting to Overlord. Nathan is in a game as it closes and finds himself trapped in another world. There will be some NSFW content, but those chapters will be marked and have little bearing on the plot, so you can skip over them if you want to.

It's been a few years since I started this project, but I plan on picking it back up, starting with some revisions of the existing chapters! The plot will remain largely the same, but I want to improve on my writing style.

Far into the future exists revolutionary virtual reality hardware and software, capable of taking the entirety of one's consciousness into a virtual world. This brought around a whole new age of games and experiences to those who could afford the constantly improving hardware. The newer stuff even allowed for the user to feel sensations of touch, smell, and taste.

One such game, known as Reverie, was incredibly popular when it first started up. Reverie was a fantasy MMORPG that drew heavily on past games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and even real life mythology. Its player base was massive and it reigned supreme for a long while. However, when the developers failed to update their software with the rise of technology, most players abandoned the game in search of newer thrills. With no player base to speak of, the devs were forced to shut the game down.

Nathan was one of the last players in the game, and when the servers were shut down he found himself trapped within a world very similar to the world of Reverie.
