A raid in the mountains leaves a coven of dark witches slaughtered and a young girl orphaned and traumatized. Soldiers bring her to a town where a grieving blacksmith, only two months a widow, seems like the last possible choice to take her in. Nora Carver knows steel and flame. She knows what it is to be broken and reforged and broken again. So when her friend beseeches her to take the quiet, mysterious girl orphaned by the raid, Nora reluctantly agrees. Together they learn to heal, to find a new meaning to the word "family", just before a man with eyes like the child's shows up and threatens everything. Nora learns just how far she will go to protect her daughter, even if that means standing against the broken laws of her country, and a soulless witch thirsty for blood.

The Villainess is Back for Vengeance on the Empire

16 parts Ongoing Mature

Our female lead Norah had a horrible life, she was abused and abandoned at a young age. She was never loved by those who was to be her family (except for her grandparents). She was engaged to the crown prince Ryan, but was let down by him multiple times. When sent to war she thought she would have him upon return, but he was already married to her younger sister. To make matters worse she was sent to prison for treason. The day of her execution her younger sister Ramona visited her. She came to mock Norah for being gullible and reveal her and the crown prince conspired against her. To hear all this, the little will that was left of her was gone and she was filled with rage and sadness. When brought to the guillotine she shouted her curses to the whole empire and imperial family. The blade fell and she took her last breath but that doesn't mean her story end there. By a miracle she regressed to her 17-year-old self. Now she plans to get revenge on the empire and destroy it beyond measures. And nothing will stop her.
