Struggling with trauma and undiagnosed mental illness, Laelia Torres slowly stops seeing colour in life. Everything is bland. The only people left in her life are her possessive older brother, Preston, and his toxic best friend, Hunter. By their cold hands, she's forced to see a single colour spill over her world - blood red. ***** After losing her mother at a young age and her grief-stricken father shortly after, Laelia believes there is no one left whom she can truly lean on. The weight of life becomes too heavy. She doesn't want to live, but she doesn't want to die, and continued abuse from her older brother and his best friend wears her down more with each passing day. Life turns gray. Little does she know the haunting hue that is about to bleed into her world.

Emelia Yates is a small town girl at heart. Born and raised in a tiny mountain town with the ideal family. A big brother, a loving mother and a caring father. Hell, they even had the dog, the white picket fence. It was everything anyone could have ever wanted. Until it wasn't. Ten years have passed since Emelia has been home. Ten long years in a new city, a new life, no contact with the old Emelia. But when she receives the phone call that her estranged father is sick she realizes that there is no other choice. She has to go tie up loose ends, and if not for her then for the wounded inner child that she had spent years trying to heal. Being home means running into ghosts she buried long ago. Will Emelia find the answers she needs to heal? Or will the inevitable snap crumble everything she's worked so hard to build?
