Based on the smash hit H.P Lovecraft inspired game: the sunless sea

Log date: July 12,1873

My name is John Artemis.
[I am the captain of the Dawnlight, we were going to depart for Europe on a venture to get new opportunities for wealth. As we trudged through the waves slowly, cutting them as we travel the quiet seas, we had began to realize the tragedy that would befall us. As we did not see the large hole like area in the ocean in front. I am writing this in hope my wife will somehow gather this parchment. We may not live long enough to see them again, we are low on supplies and food, we do see something in the distance... ]

{This is a story like logbook that will show horrifying encounters on their hope of survival, as there will be incomprehensible abominations that will strike fear in them, terror will wreak havoc on them and hopelessness will strike them. As they trudge through the dangerous, terrifying, harrowing, abominable sea, otherwise known as The Darkness Below.}
