Nearly five years ago, the Clone Wars ended with a purge that wiped an entire people from the galaxy. Jess, formerly known as CC-9976, a member of the 21st Nova Corps, shot down his Jedi general in accordance with Order 66. Now, Jess finds himself a stormtrooper for the Galactic Empire. Ryn Alera has only known slavery throughout her life. The last place she expected to find help was with the Empire. When Ryn is due to serve the rest of her life on Kessel, she makes a stand for her freedom. When a rogue stormtrooper helps her escape, Ryn finds herself trapped in a whirlwind of war and danger. Gradually, she adjusts to her new life on the run, and later, in the Rebellion. As she grows closer with Jess, the man who helped her escape, her values begin to change. She wasn't born a fighter, but if the galaxy's freedom requires it, she will be a soldier. Warning This book, while being a work of fiction, still contains real elements and deals with the subject of war. There will be chapters that deal with abuse, death, slight gore, etc. (Canon characters as well as planets within the Star Wars universe are not created by me.
