Solus is often alone. She fits her name rather well in fact, as that is the only thing she knows how to be.

Drifting in between meaningless relationships, shielding herself from her family, she works to make herself as invisible as possible. Insignificant even.

How could a werewolf, a social creature who craves company, and family; a pack of their own. How could a wolf like Solus possibly exist when she can do without any of those things.

Years of lost hopes and fighting her demons finally catches up with her when she finds herself caught up with the one person she was sure she could try and live without.

Her mate. The very person that will rip her open and see her for all she truly is. Scars and all.

This is a story about healing, this is a story about pain, this is story about silent suffering, but also the destruction a painfully deep wish can bring. The wish, to not be alone, the wish to finally be loved.

The wish to be whole again.

Warning: Sexual Abuse, Drug Abuse, Alcohol Abuse, Trauma, Cursing, Suggestive Dialogue, talks of Depression, Suicide, and Torture.

[DISCONTINUED] **MATURE LANGUAGE AND CONTENT** **POSSIBLE TRIGGERS** WATTYS2018 I walk down the staircase, entranced with his sharp, angular features. I notice how his lip curls up at the edge when he sees me. A soft breeze blows his scent across the room, and I can't think. Roses and salty ocean waves fill my nostrils. Add sunlight to the mix- which shouldn't have a smell but Luna, he smells like it- and I'm pretty sure if I could open my mouth, I'd be drooling. 'Mate.' My wolf whispers, giddy. I scramble back up the stairs. ____________________ Opening up when something terrible happens is hard. Near impossible. Edie thinks she is human. She has never been told otherwise. Not by the elderly aunt who raised her, and not by anyone else. But it isn't until her aunt passes away from illness that Edie learns that there is far more to the bedtime stories she was told as a child... Guided only by the notes her aunt left behind and her questionable instincts, Edie finds herself thrust into the middle of supernatural conflict that leaves her questioning everything she has ever known. Soon Edie learns that her mother was a werewolf, and her father a human, neither able to give her the guidance and answers she desperately needs after they were murdered for their unconscionable union between species. Fiercely determined and independent, her journey lands her into the arms of her mate, a dark and moody Phelan Reyes. Unbeknownst to Edie, he has always been watching her from afar, protecting her from those who seek to exploit her hybridity. When she finds her way to him, Phelan cannot mark Edie to protect her. The process is toxic for humans, so there is no mind-link. No capacity for her to shift. And no way to protect her. Her hybridity is unheard of- and Phelan has to fight his own internal battles to make her his due to the risks involved. Add in a human ex-boyfriend who is determined to find her, and the werewolf council The Guild who will stop at nothing to ensure her mutation is ended once and for all, Edie finds herself on an adventure that is far more than she ever bargained for... As an Omega, the lowest-rank werewolf in any pack, Claire is confident her smoking hot Alpha can't be her mate. But she's wrong -- not just about him, but also about her place in the werewolf world. ***** Adopted into a family of Omegas, the lowest-ranking werewolves in the Mistwood Valley pack, eighteen-year-old Claire Masters is more concerned with her schoolwork and her adorable little brother than pandering to pack politics. But when Nathanial Groves, the pack's inescapably attractive Alpha, steps into her life, her entire world is thrown into disarray. Because Claire can't help feeling drawn to him -- irresistibly so -- and it's distracting her from the growing danger looming over her town and her family.
