The Hours We Have

We have intense defense mechanisms and our own methods of survival in the adult world. Our house feels less like home, the city feels empty, and the stars seem more distant. || A True Story || - My Tower Hill @Home Time Capsule Sometimes bad things happen in our world, but it is inevitable. Everything happens for a reason. It is simply a balance of the dichotomy: good and bad. That is how our lives work; most of the time, no one has a choice. We have to learn how to cope and deal with it. However, bad things always makes us stronger because we learn something after it is all over. Plus, we will not make the same mistake again. We like to believe that we are in control as humans, but no one has real control, ever. However, we do have hope that provides us with a life of purpose and direction. It is what shapes our humanity as a whole. This true story will be filled with my experiences, advice, and thank you's, relating to Tower Hill @Home and everyday life during COVID-19. Due to sad circumstances Elisabeth is forced to move into her estranged father's house and to her surprise she learns that she has three older brothers. This is not all. Turns out her family is rich. Her father is a badass prosecutor, her oldest brother is a diplomat and the twins are successful athletes. In other words, Elisabeth's family is perfect while she is a mess. In her new house she feels out of place and lonely. She doesn't fit in. Her perfect father and perfect brothers are too busy to make time for her at the beginning. I'd dreamed of weddings before, in my youth; and in every scenario, I had always thought it to be the happiest day in my life: surrounded by my closest friends and family and laughing in my gorgeous white dress with flowers in my hair. Not like this: nauseous from cancer-fighting chemicals and wearing a cheap thrifted dress that I'd worn to an orientation week party, my hair thinning and unkempt.
