The Earphone

It was a Sunday morning.
I had reached home after my morning walk. As it was Sunday, I took a little longer walk than usual.
I saw my wife and my 6 years old daughter enjoying their tea.
"What is there in the breakfast?", I asked my wife.
She said something.
I could not hear.
"What?", I asked again.
"Dosa", I heard my wife shouting.
I thought, I just asked a simple question, why she is shouting.
I felt very bad. My ego too got bruised.
I asked, "I was asking a simple question, why you were shouting?"

My wife started smiling, it further infuriated me. "Arre Papa, Mummy is not shouting at you", my daughter told.
"You have still put the earphone on, that is why you were unable to listen when she replied earlier and she had to raise her voice".
"Please remove the earphone from your ears."
I usually put on the earphone while going for the morning walk.
I had totally forgotten to remove the earphone after reaching home.

I felt so embarrassed, I sat down on the sofa.
My face fell down.
My wife came close to me.
"I am sorry", I said.
"It is okay", do not feel so bad.
I embraced my wife and daughter.
My home again started resounding with laughter.

That Sunday morning gave me a big lesson.

In life too, sometimes the source of the problem is within but we are tempted to blame outside factors.
It is better to remove our own earphone then.......
