This poem is for all the people who think they're not good enough when looking into a mirror.It's a poem about a person suffering from Body Dysmorphic Disorder(BDD). I have people around me who think fairness is beauty, being lean is the perfect figure, having a pimple meant you had to claw your face off. And this poem is a message for all of those people

It does get better.
People say it will get better. But to be fair, most of them never were in your place. They say you will get happy again, but how can they know? I've struggled with trauma, mental illnesses, and self harm for many years. These are (mostly) poems - about me and my journey of getting better. ! As this is about self harm and other previously mentioned topics, it might be triggering. I don't glorify it in any way, though. I'm also not a native English speaker. If you find any mistakes, please tell me so I can improve.
Words Unspoken
There is a community of the spirit. Join it, and feel the delight of walking in the noisy street, and being the noise. Drink all your passion, and be a disgrace. Close both eyes to see with the other eye. Open your hands, if you want to be held. Sit down in this circle. Quit acting like a wolf, and feel the shepherd's love filling you. At night, your beloved wanders. Don't accept consolations. Close your mouth against food. Taste the food. You moan, "She left me." "He left me." Twenty more will come. Be empty of worrying. Think of who created thought! Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open? Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking. Live in silence. Flow down and down in always widening rings of being. There's a strange frenzy in my head, of birds, flying, each particle circulating on its own. Is the one I love everywhere? Drunks fear the police, but the police are drunk too. People in this town love them both like different chess pieces. ----------------------------------- All things that we hide in our hearts eat us alive. This book is - full of emotions, love, care and agitation. Well, you need to read this to know what's in. Depths Unseen
Dear You, Once, when I was younger, the world felt so much smaller. Everything important could fit in a single moment: the sound of laughter, the warmth of sunlight, the soft rustle of leaves in a quiet breeze. I didn't think about tomorrow, or the day after that. Life wasn't made of questions back then - it was made of feelings. But somewhere along the way, things began to change. The questions grew bigger. The world, which had once seemed so simple, became a puzzle I couldn't solve. I began to forget the little things - the way the atmosphere smells after rain, or the sound of my own heartbeat when I was truly at peace. Have you felt that too? The Words I couldn't Say
This is a place for me to put all the things I wish I said but I just couldn't. These are a way for me to "say" these things without actually saying them to the person I want to. Far From Perfect. That's what I am. It's what I've always been. How do I even begin to see myself as anything different when all I've ever been is the fat girl? I just want to be loved and accepted. It's all I've ever wanted. And all I've ever needed. I didn't think it was possible to have either of those until I met Nate Carter. Her weight. Her life. She may have a slightly unhealthy relationship with food, but she's fine. At least, that's what she tells herself. Then he comes along - the one she swore she would never let in again. His mind is an enigma. But maybe he's not as bad as she thought. Or maybe he's even worse, she can't decide. As their senior year progresses, secrets become harder to keep in the dark. She's losing control. And so is he. But sometimes losing control is a good thing.
