Avery is an English major attending school at the University of London. Her roommate Kali invites her to stay at her house for the summer, instead of heading back home to California. On her first night there Avery meets Kali's interesting family and learns that Kali has a secret she's been hiding from her. Her grandfather is a best selling author whose stories are based on the adventures of her family, and now its Kali's turn to be the main character. She has 8 weeks to live out a storybook adventure, and she needs Avery's help. Avery, Kali, and Kali's brother, Oliver, set out on a summer of fun and adventure as they try to give Kalis grandfather the story he's been hoping for.
