Evelyn Bell knew that once there was war. Long before she was born to a hateful human mother and an absent Fae father, Evelyn knew that a mad Fae King had wanted to wipe children like her out of existence.

Even still, after the death of her brother and with no one left to care about, Evelyn finds herself crossing the border between her old life and a new one. The boarder between the human lands that shunned her, and the Fae lands that frighten her. But when she stumbles upon a dilapidated manor and a wounded, dying Fae, the war she'd only heard whispers about becomes a story she needs to know.

A history of cruelty and mistakes and severed friendships opens up to Evelyn as she navigates the sadness and anger of the disgraced Lord Eiran, who long ago had been the mad King's right hand. The more she learns about the villain she rescued, the more she wonders what true wickedness really is. And whether the Fae she comes to understand deserves the title at all.

He gave me a feline smile as he stalked toward me. I backed away until my heels hit the stall wall and he took advantage of my surprise by stepping in to me, his body a mere whisper from mine. "That's good, Evelyn," he murmured and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. My heart was pounding and I knew my face was betraying everything I was feeling. Damn him. I didn't want to feel this excited clench in my stomach. I didn't want to feel this longing for him. "What are you doing?" My voice was shakier than I would've hoped and far too breathy. "Something I've wanted to do for a very long time." *************************************************** Two hundred years after a powerful sorceress eliminated all modern technology and most of Earth's population, the people left behind live happily with no electricity, no motorized machinery - no advanced technology of any kind. However, many of them now possess magical gifts that were once considered myth. Evelyn Kentala, a talented horse trainer, is an empath and uses her gift to understand animals. Her abilities don't allow her to know the emotions of people - or so she thinks. When Broderick Ryan, the next leader of his and Evelyn's province, returns home after being gone for five years, Evelyn discovers she's much more than an empathic horse trainer. Frightening and rare abilities begin to manifest and she's left reeling when she discovers why. Evelyn and Broderick find themselves drawn to each other as they discover the secrets of her unknown past and fight to keep themselves, and their province, safe from those who wish them harm.

Treachery Queen (The Callistra Chronicles #1)

38 parts Complete

It is two thousand long years into the future. There is no more Earth. There is only Callistra. Since the conclusion of the fae civil war that decimated the human population, there has been a strained peace among the surviving mythical creatures. But now, a strange fae illness is spreading across Callistra, and the era of harmony is crumbling fast. Pasiphae of Eo has been framed. Her grandmother, the most powerful witch in Eo, has fallen sick, and Pasiphae is suspected to be responsible. Forced to flee her homelands for treason against her coven, the only way to clear her name is to find the true traitor. Pasiphae has no choice but to venture deep into unknown territory with help from one of the fae. He can help her find the cause of the illness from within the Unseelie Court, where the walls talk and the shadows move, and she can do for him what the fae cannot do themselves: lie. But a conspiracy is unravelling in this foreign land swathed under perpetual night. All Pasiphae wanted was to prove her innocence, but within the heady darkness of the malevolent faery court, there is love and betrayal so potent it could ruin the world a second time.
