Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass fills the room and I see something fly right by me, inches away from my face.
There is an arrow in the wall and several strands of my hair on the floor.

I'm from the crown city of Utopia, and I'm about to become the Royal Mage.The invite from the Queen's arrived just yesterday. Sorry I can't stay long, but I have to get ready to leave today. I wonder what life is going to be like in the palace.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die.
