It was April 14, 1842 in the slave state of Jackson, Mississippi. Thirty six year old John Corrigan owned a cotton plantation. Slaves obviously worked on the plantation under harsh conditions for no money at all under the mercy of the slave owner. Master John has a wife named Anna and two children; a twelve year old daughter named Sarah and a seventeen year old son named Drew. As Drew was on his rounds, circling the plantation to watch the slaves, he saw one slave that would change his life forever.
