It is no secret James Gillies is William Murdoch's arch nemesis. The two have battled head to head more than once, and Gillies is not afraid to use emotional tactics against the Detective.

That's where Breanna Murdoch, William's youngest sister, comes into play.

When Gillies gets wind of Murdoch's family history and of the sheltered sister of his rival, he decides to conduct an experiment of a greater scale than the one he pulled with Dr. Ogden.

What would a brother do to protect his sibling? What would his reaction be when he learns his fragile little sister is tied up with the most dangerous man he knows?

Gillies is more than curious to see what will happen, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure he conducts the perfect experiment.

Gillies is waiting for results. William is desperately trying to find answers. And Breanna?

She's fighting to stay alive and find reason in a game she never wanted to be part of.

Across the school, six students will battle for survival and discover the meaning of trust and betrayal. RAYMOND is the junior valedictorian who talks little, a genius with a mysterious past and unclear intentions. SKYLAR is popular and beautiful, and has tabs on everyone thanks to her newspaper and yearbook class. JESSE is a star athlete on the varsity baseball team, quick to protect his friends but slow to make the right choice. ALYSSA is a kind girl who's a model of perfection, as an Ivy-bound pre-med major and former cheer captain. GRACE sticks to herself and prioritizes her own survival above all else, but has mastered the sport of archery. ROWAN is a freshman trying not to fail half his classes, struggling to live up to his brother's shadow. These six people don't know much about each other at the start of the games, but will find their fates entwined in ways none of them will have expected. "𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 π’šπ’π’– π’…π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ?" I breathed- the only four words that I could even push out of my mouth, barely audible. Reid's eyes met mine once again, a mix of vulnerability and determination in his look. "Testing a hypothesis," he murmured, his voice soft and husky. A shiver raced down my spine at his words, igniting a feeling within me that I tried desperately to bury when it came to him. "A hypothesis?" I echoed, my breath catching. "And what exactly are you trying to prove?" He leaned in closer, his warm breath fanning over my skin, sending sparks of awareness coursing through me. "That the tension between us isn't just in my head." His fingertips paused at the curve of my shoulder, lingering for a moment longer like he was weighing the consequences of his next move. "That every time you challenge me, every time you push back, every time you get 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 π’Žπ’š π’”π’Œπ’Šπ’-it's because you feel this too." --- In the high-stakes realm of the Behavioural Analysis Unit, where every second counts and every case further uncovers the darkest corners of the human mind- Mira Andros joins the team to help unravel one of the darkest of all. Tasked with uncovering a chilling conspiracy involving a hidden cult within America's wealthiest businesses, she finds herself clashing with the BAU's resident genius- Spencer Reid. Their rivalry is instant, fueled by heated debates and a mutual hatred for one another- yet beneath their sour exchanges is an attraction that neither can ignore, even though they have to. What if your greatest threat isn't the enemy watching but the desire you can't deny? **Warning: This book will contain smut & heavy topics - reader discretion is advised. Ice flooded my veins as the realization of who he was hit me. It must have been evident on my face because the man in front of me let out a dark laugh. "Oh dear, you didn't realize you were talking to a royal, did you darling?" he crooned. Not just any royal. Kesserian Cinis. The recently coronated king and ruler over the Ember Court. I forgot how to breathe, my mind whirring as it tried to figure out how I could have been so stupid as to let this happen. *************************************************** Wren Heatherfield is on the run. Having turned 18, she is now in danger of becoming selected for the Garner, a deadly game in which the six kings who rule over her continent take eighteen non-magical girls and make them fight for their lives. But as she tries to avoid the game by running away with her best friend and her sister, she consequently finds herself doomed to be a competitor in the 246th Garner. But the Garner isn't the only thing capable of killing her. In a castle surrounded by kings with dark powers and girls fighting for their lives, she may find that the politics of royalty can be just as deadly as their games. No one can be trusted in a palace full of monsters and, if Wren has any hopes of survival, she may have to become one herself.
