He chortled and came closer. Aldora could feel his hot breath warming her cheek like a soft summer wind. Softly touching her hurt temple, he whispered:
"It must hurt. You shouldn't walk alone."
Andrea let his hand to glide on her face, took a rebel clump of her hair and placed it behind her ear. His hand continued its way down her neck and rested for a second on her collarbone. Aldora could hear her heart drumming. Her breath hitched, and a whirlwind of contradictory emotions took over her soul. Andrea Mitchell, the most desired boy in the school, was there speaking with her.
His soft hand seized her phone after had clutched her hand for a few seconds, and with slow movements, he wrote something on. "This is my number. Call me." Aldora glanced in Andrea's oddly unemotional inky eyes.

The England of 1868 was full of witches and wizards blamed for every drought or disease. White and black magic confronted every day in a fight for power. Killam the Wizard has to control everything and assure his King's empire won't be destroyed. The battle becomes personal when his daughter - the only descendent of the throne - dies. It may mean the end of the white magic and the end of the world as he knew it.

Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family.
