Hi, my name is Gustav Swart! I am a 20 year old medical student from South Africa. As of this year, 2020 I am a first year medical student in a 5 year programme, after which I will recieve a Medical and Surgical Bachelors (MBChB) the South African equivalent of an MD (in the USA) or MBBS (in the UK).
I want to begin this blog to record my journey through medical school so that I can remember all the good times. So that I can give people a peek into the world of what its like to be a medical student. To impart some of the knowledge and wisdom I have and gain through my experiences that might help other medical students and even the layperson.
I'll have funny stories, sad stories, happy stories, interesting case studies and facts as well as some lessons in the human body and what its like being a doctor!
I hope I can possibly carry this blog on into my post-graduate studies or even my life as an attending/consultant!

-Look at me! Look at my body and don't you dare to lie and say that is normal. People look at me like I was a disease, a contagious disease who gets attached to you, like a virus, travels through your body burns your hope, range shots your dreams, massacre your faith and your mental health. A virus that makes people gossip, whisper about everything. Your clothes size, your stretched skin, the amount of fat that you carry every where you go. You don't know what Is is like to live as I do. This virus eats me alive , makes me crave and urge for food , while I have my face buried in the toilet , throwing up , eating back, exercise and control. You can't love me, you can't love something like me, ans i know. It's a nightmare that crawls up my mind in pure day light. _____________________________________ He needed to met the next sunset in hopes he would starve to death or find the end of the road to a Clift, where his body could be found at the end of the tale that was written to be his life, however his tale couldn't end there, where his fears would be transported to the next life and hunt him for eternity.forced to find a placed after escaping death, at this new journey he found the healing his body, mind, soul needed, so did she.

There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. "So you approached me without being aware of my identity?" He asks me, while raising an eyebrow. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. It takes me a while to compose myself and form a sensible reply. "Yes, I wasn't aware of your identity." "You might think you can fool me, but trust me, this has happened quite a few times before as well." He says with a very serious expression. I'm baffled by his accusation. This man has the audacity to question my intentions when he's the one trying to converse with me all along. I don't know what comes over me, but whenever I'm overwhelmed with anger, it turns into tears. And before I can compose myself, I taste the salty tears in my mouth. I take a few deep breaths, place the cup on the side table and get up to leave. "Thank you for your hospitality and your excellent assessment of my character. I will now take your leave." With that, I turn to head towards the door but he grabs my hand and pulls me towards him. Characters: Ameerah is a happy-go-lucky 23 year old who has recently graduated from med school. She is an optimist with quite a rosy view of the world. She is far from perfect. She has her faults; some she's aware of and others, not so much. She's stronger than most in some ways, weaker than many in others. Sebastian McArdle is a Consultant in General Surgery at the Royal London Hospital. He's one of the youngest and most accomplished surgeon in town. To an outsider, his life would seem perfect. He's young, handsome, successful, rich and hails from one of the most respected families in the country. But life is not always what it seems to be. He has his own set of problems. As Our Holy Qur'an states Surah An-Nisa, Verse 28: Allah desires that He should make light your burdens, and man is created weak. Follow a story of trials and errors, to finding her path to love, and to Life.
