Hi, my name is Gustav Swart! I am a 20 year old medical student from South Africa. As of this year, 2020 I am a first year medical student in a 5 year programme, after which I will recieve a Medical and Surgical Bachelors (MBChB) the South African equivalent of an MD (in the USA) or MBBS (in the UK).
I want to begin this blog to record my journey through medical school so that I can remember all the good times. So that I can give people a peek into the world of what its like to be a medical student. To impart some of the knowledge and wisdom I have and gain through my experiences that might help other medical students and even the layperson.
I'll have funny stories, sad stories, happy stories, interesting case studies and facts as well as some lessons in the human body and what its like being a doctor!
I hope I can possibly carry this blog on into my post-graduate studies or even my life as an attending/consultant!

-Look at me! Look at my body and don't you dare to lie and say that is normal. People look at me like I was a disease, a contagious disease who gets attached to you, like a virus, travels through your body burns your hope, range shots your dreams, massacre your faith and your mental health. A virus that makes people gossip, whisper about everything. Your clothes size, your stretched skin, the amount of fat that you carry every where you go. You don't know what Is is like to live as I do. This virus eats me alive , makes me crave and urge for food , while I have my face buried in the toilet , throwing up , eating back, exercise and control. You can't love me, you can't love something like me, ans i know. In the world of Htraeas, the major kingdoms of; Acirema, Napaj, Anihc, Aissur, Aerok, and Encarf have created academies in order to train professional warriors for use of tournaments, mission contracts, and assassinations and monster/demon hunting. In the academy of Encarf, we follow four young students through their journey in the academy to becoming some of the world's most deadliest assassins and mercenaries. Warning! Will contain Violence, gore, sensitive scenes, and swearing! You have been warned. Feel free to draw the characters, or even make your own universe if you want to. Just be sure to credit me and Rosealina Heart for the pictures and story! An unfortunate series of events leads to Lucy waking up in an unknown apartment. The one of her work colleague and former enemy, Joshua. When Josh announces that after she fell and blacked out, he took her to his home instead of an ER to take care of her himself, Lucy doesn't understand. Until he explains that he attended med school for four years before dropping out and changing the industry. Lucy's state of health and a number of unfortunate revelations lead to the need of Josh's medical expertise which throughout the next few days turns out to still not be enough... ---------------------------------------------------- "No. Cut it right there.", his wrist is still in my hand and I hold on to it. "Please don't regret it. I- I could not take that." I'm lucky that there's water streaming down the side of my face from my hair so that he cannot see the tiny tear making its way down my cheek. His pupils widen and his throat bobs as he swallows the rest of his sentence down. Then he leans to the front and softly kisses the tear away. "Never in my life would a thought such as regretting a singular second I have spent with you cross my mind."
