It is 1914, and Henry Anderson is watching the world descend into war. Like many young men at the time, he is fascinated by the idea of warfare and glory. Henry enlists in the military against his parents' wishes and throws himself into the life of a British soldier in Flanders. But it is far from what he expects: Henry's fantasies of righteous battle fade into the grim reality of gruesome death and shell-shock. He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. She was 8 years old and didn't understand much about what was going on, all she knew is that her dad and her brother both had to leave to fight in the war. The only one that she had left was her mom, which was suffering from depression and couldn't really help her get through the hard times. As Elizabeth, the little girl, began to grow up, her mom died, her bother and her dad never showed up again at her house, which left her completely alone. She lost her house, she lost her family and all that she had left was herself. One day, at 16 years old, when she was walking down the street, she suddenly heard gunshots and all hell broke loose in front of her eyes. She was shocked, she didn't know what to do, since she thought that the war was over. However, one guy that was also part of the military, saw her. He looked around her age, and when he saw her standing there without moving, he saved her. This is the story about young love. (Sequel to Clair de Lune) "I'm not scared of the thunder anymore." I can taste the fear in the air. This place, it isn't like PASCI, or at least the PASCI we know. Everyone is crammed two to a cell, and I'm too far away from my family to be comfortable. What's left of them, that is. It isn't long before someone starts to cause issues. We're broken out, the building is on lockdown, and I'm hunting down the only people I have left in this world. Except when I open the door...past mistakes are brought into the light and I'm forced to face them as I'm met with a new enemy, one with a motive far more devious than that of the poor PASCI corporation. They want to take back what's theirs, and they won't let anyone stand in their path, agent, civilian, or subject alike. 1971 and the vietnam war wages on. Germany and America join forces to fight and stop the spread of communism. Hans Hoffmen jr was drafted into the war. He and his troops fought until they were called back home emendently. For some reason they were not told why they called back so fast. When they came back a new building popped up. Then they were told to guard the unknown building. Then during one of their guarding hundreds of troops came flooding. They were soldiers wearing a roman like armor and weapons. Then the soldiers under Hoffmen command open fire and wipe out. After the incident the building/gate was badly damaged which caused it to close again before that happened a spy and his family were sent in to study the other side. Now in 2018 Colonel Wolf Hoffmen was in Berlin for an important meeting walking past the building which is now called the great gate. Then it happens all over again...
