Melanie Rosario, the main character, was a normal 17 year old girl before her life was turned upside down by what is known as COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

After a few months of quarantine the world has not returned to its normal self and the disease is still spreading.  Now she is by herself in the world of betrayal and death, for her family and over 85 percent of the world population has caught the quickly-spreading virus and has withered away.

Wandering in the streets of Sacramento, California, Melanie discovers that she is
not alone.
