After the events of Thawfest, Hiccup and Heather are hearing voices and seeing visions -urging them to go back into the great beyond and find out what it is. Together with their friends Aaron, Skylar and Nikolai and their Night Furies, they begin their journey towards the voices and visions. They encounter new allies, old friends, unexpected reunions, new dragons, and answers to all their questions about the past.

Most of all, they encounter a familiar playful guardian and a powerful protector who will help them get all the answers they need, where their fates are entwined with our young lovers in the most unpredictable way. 

Only to discover an unexpected betrayal, a powerful enemy they are about to face, a prophecy that will change their fates, magic more powerful than any force on earth, and how love is the key to a victory beyond their own.
