Borrowed Time

"Damn it!" malakas na sigaw ni Mason habang nakayuko at mahigpit na hawak ang phone.

We are trending on twitter and and on different social medias. Maraming nagco-comment saying I'm a homewrecker. Some are saying I'm trying to ruin Mason's relationship with Megan. Tinatawag ako ng iba na malandi dahil pumatol ako sa lalaking may girlfriend.

But mostly, the comments are positive. They're saying that Megan and Mason aren't really together and it's just the fans that are making up stories. According to the comments, ako raw ang totoong girlfriend ni Mason.

What the heck?

He looked at me. "I'm sorry, Em. I'll talk to my manager. We'll fix this. I promise," he said while looking at me sincerely.

Tumango ako. "Okay, but do it fast. Please."

Walang magagawa kung magagalit ako. At the end of the day, it was still our fault. He was scrolling on his phone when I called him. "Mason."

I just have some things to clear out.

"What is it?"

"What will Megan say? Baka magalit 'yung girlfriend mo."

"Emily said no. Hindi niya gagawin ang plano mo," Mason said.

"Mason, come on. Aren't you thinking? This is unexpected but look," ipinakita ng manager niya sa'min ang iPad na hawak niya. "We are receiving a lot of positive feedbacks. This will help in the song you are about to release."

I stayed silent. I don't know what I'm supposed to say.

Mason scoffed. "Leo, we're not gonna do it."

"Mason, naman, ba't ba ang tigas ng ulo mo?! This is just easy. You're just gonna pretend. Go on dates, post each other on social media and voila, done!"

"No."

I looked at him.

Maybe we could do it, right? I mean he helped me a lot of times.

I owe him this.

At least.

"Let's do this, Mason. We've got nothing to lose."
