"Zach, you need to leave. They're already here."
"What? No, mom, they'll kill you!" I said.
My mother looked at me with tears in her eyes. She opened the door and carried me out. I continuously shouted and cried, but nothing stopped her from putting me outside our house.
"Please, leave me. I-"
She lied on the ground, her shirt covered in a thick, red liquid.
She was dead.
"I love you mom."
It took a second to register what was happening around me. She is dead, and I couldn't do anything about it. I faced the man who killed her.
"I'll get back at you for this. Even if I die doing it."
Then I took off in a sprint, running for my life.
