To Nadia, life is like a painting. You make a vision, plan it out but the end result is never what you expected it to be. Just like how a supposedly simple and ordinary painting session on the beach turns to an unexpected encounter with a mysterious man who seems to be tired of living.

Emery Cohen loves to paint. Painting is his heart and soul; it is the very reason he exists. He believes all it takes to change the world is to add a splash of color in all the gray places. He quickly learns nothing is so simple. Emery can hardly keep his grades up. His dad is an alcoholic and his mom died when he was young. He's told he likely won't even make it to graduation. But those are only components of the gray world; something that can't consume him as long as he has a paintbrush and some paints. Living life in color means doing what you want, embracing your talents, maybe even falling in love and giving color to those in need of it. But what happens when you give all the color you have to the rest of the world? And what if the only thing that gives you color--your paintbrush--gets lost in the gray world, too? *** Started: 11/21/16 Finished: 6/21/17
