2 years following the covid-19 lockdown, 16 year old Isabel De La Cruz feels fumbled and overwhelmed about school re-opening again. And, I thought how incredibly awkward it would have been for a teenage girl to do all of those scenes if she had been any less self assured and professional than Joey King is. So , I set my story in a high school that was putting on the play the Kissing Booth, and made my own characters with their own insecurities and struggles.
