- [ ongoing ] Considering everything that's going on with the world right now, I'm going to try and lighten up the atmosphere as much as I can with my new story 'The Corona Chronicles'. A group of 6 best friends are having a blast on Christmas break at Amber's house in Malibu, California, when they get the horrifying news that the CoronaVirus made its way to the United States. This will be a fiction story but with some non-fiction facts and information about Covid-19, so I'm not really sure what to call it 😅. Welcome to Evergreen
During winter break, a retreat welcomes 20 students from a nearby city school into Evergreen, a small friendly mountain town known for it's scenic views and cozy inns sought after for the vacation vibe. Welcomed to take part in a retreat promoting mindfulness and self-growth, the students on this trip find this as the opportunity to do everything but that. On a hike, a group of students wander out to a nearby grotto where they discover a plethora of flowers. Entranced by their beauty, they decide to take some back with them. Within hours of this event, one of their chaperones falls ill. She becomes extremely irritable and erratic with everyone she encounters in town. Soon enough, other townspeople begin to fall ill with similar symptoms and this sends a wave of panic over the town and its inhabitants. The local sheriff decides to place a quarantine on the town to avoid new people from becoming affected and preventing those who are ill from leaving and possibly spreading the mysterious malady. It seems no one from the outside world is aware of what is happening and because people are succumbing to this mysterious ailment, there is no one making it down the mountain safe enough to reach someone for help. In the news, a huge storm is forecasted, thus the kids must decide whether to forge their potential fate or take the trip down.
