Hope Brooks has been though a lot. More than any 16 year old ever should have to. Her dad left her when she was 2. Her (former) step-dad divorced her mom. She lost her twin brother when she was 14. She doesn't trust trust people easily, but she has always had her best friend, Kyle, since Kindergarten, and her mom. When Hope's mom dies she is left with no family except her 7 year old half-brother, who goes to live with his dad full time. Hope moves in with Kyle and his family, who have always been like a second family. Hope is be grieving over, not only, the loss of her brother, but also her mom. Kyle has to be there for Hope more than ever. He will be the best friend he has always been... maybe even something more, too. Hope starts to spiral when all of the emotions she has hidden from the world start to surface. All security that she has ever had is gone. Can Hope deal with everything and make it out? Or will her life overwhelm her?
