"Sometimes you're so close I could feel your breath, and sometimes you're so far away you become a slim dark silhouette against the setting sun." ___________________ A slight parting of the voile curtains, a cascade of black locks that caught light in the evening hours, a slim silhouette in a white caftan. That's how Jamal had known the Azal family had a seventh daughter. The scenery looked ethereal to the young man, he lingered there despite his protesting ethics, watching as she combed her hair. And despite telling himself otherwise, he had come to the rooftop busying himself with a random chore just so he could steal glances at the same scenery each day, until his mother was concerned about his sudden interest in the laundry. ________________ On the 12th of August 1975, Jamal first sees Amirah. On the 12th September 1975, Jamal is already in love with Amirah. Is Jamal naive thinking he can get his princess, and a happily ever after? Is it wishful thinking that a boy who has nothing can defeat the obstacles that can cost him everything? Is it stupid fighting against fate?

I frowned, thrown off "Do i...remember?" "Do you remember..." she starts but her voice falters. She glances down at the sand, biting her lip debating whether to even continue. She then takes a shaky breath and finally looks up. Eyes locking with mine " do you even remember how you got it?" Her question hits me like a slap. I open my mouth, then close it, my brows furrowing as I force my brain to rewind. How did I get it? Nothing. Not a single clear memory. She steps closer, her voice trembling, but the edge of anger sharpening her words. "Or when? Or where? Or for what reason? Or what it even means?!" I flinch at her tone, but I can't answer her. I try. God, I try.. I look down at the sand beneath my feet, forcing myself to dig through every memory, every hazy night out, every stupid decision I might've made-but nothing. Not a single moment of how I got it surfaced. I let out a frustrated breath and rake a hand through my hair, feeling the panic rise like bile in my throat. When I finally lift my head to speak, Ashley's already staring at me, and I can tell-she knows my answer before I say a word. "You don't remember," she says softly, nodding like she expected it all along. __________________________________________ Crazy thing happened...Three years ago, a tragic accident left Ashley scarred and shattered. Aiden survived, but when he woke from a year-long coma, every memory of the girl he loved was gone. Now, Ashley clings to the hope he'll remember-But as time slips through her fingers, the question haunts her-will she lose him all over again?
