All Mckenna Carrington wants is for her senior year to be over as soon as possible, so she could go on the road trip and do all the things she and her boyfriend Josh had planned. Mckenna is going to have to do all those things alone, because Josh is gone, and it's all her fault. She's determined to live her life and love Josh forever. Insert Derek Marshall. An arrogant and rebellious teen who has just moved into the Carrington's home along with his sister Daisy, whose head is stuck high in the clouds. Derek hated the idea of having to move in with his grandparents while his mother was away with her new husband she replaced them with. Derek's only wish when he arrived in the small town was to get out, till he meets Mckenna, knowing he's finally met his match in someone who is even more damaged than he is. Soon the two wind up on the road trip Mckenna had been planning for the summer. The things on the list are personal, adventurous, and totally out of her comfort zone, exactly what Josh would have wanted and now she was stuck doing those things with Daisy and Derek by her side, which she couldn't decide if it was a good, or bad thing. Bad definitely bad, because if there's someone she didn't want to expose herself to, it was Derek Marshall. Lucky for both of them, Derek is very patient and could wait forever if that's what it takes for Mckenna to accept him, all she has to do is yes. The problem is, was it possible for her to love one, without losing her love for the other? She has 3 months to figure it out

-Summer teen romance- Isla Nova Dawson has always been the type of girl to hang out amongst big crowds of people. She prefers the company of a few people where she feels the most confident in. She thrives lost in the crowd, where she can confidently make jokes and laugh heartily at others that may not be that funny. There's no surprise why Isla has become some of the popular type at school- she loves being known by others. Julian Hayes isn't a loner. No- far from it- he has a group of friends he plays baseball with and surf during the summer. He has family that he is known to hang out with. He just tends to stay away from big crowd of people where he doesn't feel comfortable in. Isla and her friends find themself at this opportunity of a lifetime. Finishing off her Junior year of high school, her school offers resources to go on a trip with teenagers like her. Travel for Teens isn't a new concept but it is for the small town of South Carolina. At this opportunity, the group of people jump at the chance to get out and do something new which will no doubt be fun. It was supposed to be fun for Julian as well but after plans abruptly change and thousands of dollars that cannot go to waste, he finds himself alone at the trip. Sure, he can go out and socialize with teenagers especially since they're ones from his school but he finds himself isolated from the group. The teens throw a big party at the house during the end of the trip. The small leads to a boring night at the end. The teens find themself playing little games to occupy time. "I dare you to kiss a guy you don't even know the name of," Isla was asked and soon she found herself kissing Julian. It shocks Julian to a pause, here he was sitting idly to a girl kissing him suddenly. Julian ponders on it, but then finds out that the kiss wasn't meant to be anything.
