This is a story about Everlark. Here is my own interpretation of how Peeta and Katniss realistically rekindle after Mockingjay Part 2, but with a twist. They both have a myriad of problems and don't know how to cope with them alone. When Peeta has an un-expected flashback and attacks a vulnerable Katniss, can she cope when he has to go away? Can Katniss recover alone? Can she learn to love again? Can they consolidate and finally find peace? That's the ultimate goal: peace.

The plot twist is basically that Katniss didn't kiss Peeta when they were in the Capitol during the Rebellion, and how it would effect Peeta's recovering, since that is obviously taking it a step back. --- Katniss is broken, tortured, and she has lost almost everyone she ever took a second to care about. Katniss and Peeta have managed to regain the friendship they'd thought they lost, but Katniss is unsure if Peeta is ready to face his old feelings and pursue something more between them. Katniss herself worries that she may not be mentally prepared for what a relationship might entail. The problem is, that hunger she felt for him on the beach in the Quell won't relent, and it only grows stronger when they resume their previous sleeping arrangements. In an attempt to stave off the hunger she feels for Peeta without putting pressure on him to label what exactly he feels for her, she suggests a simple proposition-that they become friends with benefits. But friends with benefits is never as simple as it sounds.
