Jack was a care free child who lived with his divorced father in Darwin,Australia. One night whilst jack is looking up at the stars he sees something plummeting to Earth. He finds what appears to be a meteorite. This is no ordinary meteorite, when human contact is made it releases thousands of spores. When inhaled they spread and reproduce rapidly un noticed by the body's immune system. They morph to resemble human DNA and are camouflaged in the host's body, then they stop and become dormant.
Why and when this happens no one knows. What effect does it have on the hosts? All will be revealved in due time. The Earth is not prepared for what is about to happen. This frightening story will leave you thinking, can this really happen?

Australia was once a country with Carnivores and Herbivores coexisting with the Omnivores. Humans, considered class Omnivores, came out with a strange pathogen. During the first week, humans were infected with a virus showing cannibalistic behaviour only to their own species. Biting. Eating the flesh of ones own species. Violent behaviour. It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors. This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden.
