Once whole, the continent of Maellya was split in two, both literally and figuratively. Magic is abundant and commonplace in the Southern continent, praised and welcomed. However, lurking in the second biggest kingdom on the Northern continent--Asphenia--is a benevolent king, sitting upon his stolen throne.
A once-seasoned warrior gets throw into a situation she could never imagine. All of her comrades--her friends--dead, she is forced to face the wrath of the enemy. 
Her name is Thyria Orlin.
Now a war prisoner, Thyria is sent to one of the worst places imaginable. Illyia.
Once inside, Thyria discovers the atrocities hidden in the shadows of Asphenia, and learns of her heritage.
Evil clings to the darkness like fungi, and Thyria does everything in her power to get rid of it.

This story is complete, though incomplete. For elaboration, I have completed it how I wanted it, in the sense of me working and chipping away at it to get it printed off for my father to read, seeing as he wanted to read, edit, and attempt to get it published (He had called a publishing company the other day about it). Incomplete in the sense that I don't have all the scenes I really want now more than I did when I was in the process of writing it. For example, in the previous chapter one, there was a small scene that had Aaren, Travis, Loyd, Scott, Gabe, and Xander fighting in Lord Sylvie's house. I had changed it so that they moved outside, seeing as I imagined Sylvie's house as a small, quaint house, so it would only make sense that they all fought OUTSIDE instead of INSIDE. Also incomplete in the sense that I strongly dislike the way I wrote it. I've gotten some 'inspiration' from my dad about (spoiler) killing her in the end, so I came back to change it before we went into really editing the pages (grammar, spelling, etc). That's all I really wanted to communicate with you guys, so if you remember something specific about the previous book, I changed it because I disliked how it wrote it. Book 2 starts off almost exactly after book 1 ends. Now on the run, Emily, Jasmine, and Lily, have taken asylum at the Alpha King's home. Emily is still upset over what happened at the battle against the magical creatures and the royal family. Still suffering from nightmares of her birth, and now the battle and the death of her parents, Emily tries to be happy for Jasmine who is bonding with her long lost father. The Alpha King even offers Emily and Jasmine some training over being werewolves and how to connect with their creature side more. Emily takes focus on the training but when King Augustus takes revenge over the magical creatures taking out half of his family, he makes the magical creature factions to offer up some of their own in a brutal arena where they are forced to fight to the death. The Alpha King, who just found his daughter, doesn't want to hand her over but he hands Emily over, making her despise the Alpha King even more. In the first year of the brutal entertainment yet again for the humans, Emily meets fellow witch orphanage sisters Valentine and Violet.
