She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. She was thinking what he would say, what his voice sounded like, what he would call her and how would she react to his actions. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way. Read the book to understand how is this a strange marriage and how would this ever work. *Fictional story Was listed at #1 under SidNaaz on 21st Jan, 2021.. happiest day!! Joan
"I don't like to think of myself as this kickass, badass Lara Croft, no. But I try not to be your typical every day Jane Doe. So I where does that leave me? In the middle, I guess. So there. I'm just your atypical- yet completely ordinary- girl with a bloody crown. Yeah, that has a nice ring to it." At 14 years of age, Joan Domshov thinks she has it all figured out- well, mostly that is. Though her ducks may not always be in a line, she's pretty confident that if she's made it 14 years then she can make it 14 more without the world caving in on her. Oh how one can dream. Exposed to a new world with which she shares a closer tie than she knew, Joan realizes there's more beyond anything she's used to. But change is good. Unless it comes in the form of an eerily charming yet minatory king from the other side of Edalirwen. When her brother is taken by the king who seems to have a personal vendetta against her family's namesake, Joan will travel to the other side of a world that is rumored to be folklore. Regardless, Joan is certain she can prevail. But as her confidence is shaken and her perception about who she truly is starts to diminish, she'll be left questioning the person she once thought she was. Smartmouthed, snarky, and clueless to her obstacles, Joan will figure out whether she is a girl with a tainted past or something else entirely.Completa
