STOLEN: One Interstellar Starship

Having witnessed her world at the brink of destruction, Duril Arathal traded a nuclear bomber for a voyage to the stars. But with the specter of war always close behind, she knows any conflict in space will ultimately be settled on the surface with weapons that could doom all life on her homeworld.

The theft of a prototype starship will challenge everything she knows to be true: who's a friend, who's an enemy, and most of all, the certainty her kind is alone in the universe.

Volume 1 of CANAISIS ∞ The Last Living Ship trilogy (Chronicles of Canaisis 1) Can a ship, born to sail the ocean of stars to ensure Humankind's survival, save her Captain from the void within his own heart? ∞ ∞ ∞ Canaisis is the last of her kind, a Living Ship forged with Mankind's most advanced technology and artificial intelligence. Together with her Captain, she sails the cold, dark void between stars at multiple times the speed of light-to ensure Humanity's survival. As Canaisis agrees to carry a corporation's entire personelle to their new colony planet, Captain Gareth Levant finds his solitude interrupted by a new culture and a woman whose Gift threatens to unlock the pain caged within his heart. A pain he's carried since before the day he first launched... centuries ago. As if that is not enough, something about Earth's Citizens sanctioning the corporation's relocation rings falsely with undertones that has Captain Levant on edge. He will do anything to keep his ship and passengers safe. Captain Levant loves his ship, as any good captain does since the beginning of time-whether with wind, sail and ocean waves as in the days of old, or in the vast depths of space. But if Canaisis were able to return that love, could it burn bright enough to light the way through the void within the Captain's own heart? Or does it require the Gift of human touch? ∞ ∞ ∞ By @kemorgan65 and @RavenRock2112 ∞ ∞ ∞ A prequel to the pre-story of #ShadowOfThePastTrilogy ∞ The Displaced. ∞ ∞ ∞ SEQUELS: Canaisis ∞ A Captain's Journey Canaisis ∞ A Shard Of Code ∞ ∞ ∞ REVIEW by @Ray_Of_Sunshine9 "...loved the overall themes within the story, and what it meant for me as a person - a mission of delivering hope and finding a new home. ... What if we were the first in our part of the galaxy to discover the secret of faster than light travel? What if this discovery was 10,000 years before it was supposed to be? Our neighbors had been watching for centuries and were surprised with our early arrival into the Web of Worlds... The Year is 2166: To the people of Earth, the universe seemed to be a very lonely place. Astronomers have discovered tens of thousands of planets; many had indications of organic life. SETI had been searching for signals for over 200 years. There had been a few tantalizing bits of radio or radar energy received but nothing ever proven to be of intelligent origin. But there was an alien civilization out there, in fact many of them linked together in a Web of Worlds. They were watching us quietly, carefully and patiently. It had long been the prime directive of the Web that no developing civilization be contacted until that civilization made it into interstellar space on their own; and that always took time, lots of time. Most Web worlds took 1,000 years or more to go from steam to the atom and none had made it from the atom to a sublight stardrive in less than 5,000 standard years. Every civilization of The Web had proven that faster than light travel was impossible, so there was plenty of time to watch the Earth... The watchers were astounded with the speed of progress of human science and also horrified at the periods of violence. By 2076 nuclear fusion power was widespread on earth. By 2100 the first interplanetary fusion ships explored the Sol system. The men and women of the Anglosphere Alliance began their first missions in ships approaching 0.1c. At that velocity, manned flight to even the nearest stars would take a lifetime. What would happen if a beautiful engineer and a brilliant physicist stumbled upon an artificial gravity field which would make a faster than light drive possible... A ship that just happens to be the only means of a black market leprechaun gang leaving earth. A battle to the death is sure to ensue. Young J-Star has been given permission by her king to help the boys. She can practically give the boys victory on a platter, using nigh mystical powers. However Kyle despises her power and Xao says she needs to be "saved" from the Tricksters entirely. Both boys are dealing with the darkness in their own souls, lost without their cheerful and loving founder, Jessica. Aliens, devils and monsters, in a world of so much evil, is it possible to save anyone?
