Amerie Barrington is an independent individual. She enjoys her solitude and embraces her inevitable future of not having one in terms of love. After witnessing generations of couples in her family split up she has come to terms with the fact that she will end up the same way. Heartbroken and alone. So when she moves to a new city and starts catching feelings for a particular boy she tries to put her feelings deep down in an attempt to slow down the inevitable.
After all, she can't have a good life if none of her family had one, right?
