The Changeup

This short story takes place during one of the most stressful weeks of junior year for Taylor Smith, prom and the start of softball playoffs. Taylor, a confident tom-girl, is focused on school and softball. If she had her way she would not even be going but her best friend, Kylie, has other plans.

Due to her dad being the tough football coach, boys aren't necessarily jumping at the chance to be her date. Plus it didn't help that she only moved there six months ago. However, going to prom dateless in South Carolina wasn't really celebrated.

You would think that Taylor would have a football team full of options? Wrong. She sees them as brothers, well most of them anyways.

Kylie isn't convinced. She thinks that Taylor has a soft spot for one of them, Parker Johnson (the starting quarterback). But according to Taylor: "That is never gonna happen."

Nonetheless, a lot of things can happen in a week. So will Taylor go outside of her comfort zone and trade her softball uniform for a prom dress and give love a chance?
