"So what Hunter?" I scream at him. "This was your plan all along?"

He rolls his eyes at me, no longer fazed by my outburst.

"This was your plan all along, wasn't it? You wanted to break me?" I curse the tears that burn at my waterlines.

He reaches out to grab ahold of my arm but I pull away harshly. "I hate you, Hunter Holland. I hate you with every fiber of my being." I can't help but glare at him now a tears spill from my eyes as they roll down my cheeks.

"Vantana, you know you don't hate me." He soothes as he watches me break down. His rough callused hand caresses my cheek.

I take a step backwards to get away from him, not realizing how close I am to the road.

"I do. I hate you." I wipe my tears harshly as I take another step back, and another walking away from his hurt expression. "You won."

My name is Aeris Thorne. I am a genetically modified human. And I'm in serious danger. PAINFUL SECRETS STARTLING TRUTHS. UNDENIABLE LOVE. All it took was a chance meeting--one tingling glance across a darkened street to change my life. I'd been searching for my two best friends in the crowded Zenith Club, which was a really bad idea because I'm totally claustrophobic. I burst outside. That's when I came face-to-face with Hunter Cayman. Dark-haired, tall, and leaning against an insane sports car, my pulse went haywire. The young doctor had his long muscular arms crossed over his leather jacket clad chest, and all his six-foot something would make any girl's knees turn weak. But then, if what Ella said was true, Hunter was the kind of guy who left behind a trail of broken hearts. And heartache was the last thing I needed right now. Yet there's something strange, something almost superhuman about Hunter. It's more than that infuriatingly knowing grin. I'm trying to stop thinking about him, and I get the feeling he's avoiding me, too. Yet Deep Cove is a tiny town and every time we run into each other the tension literally crackles, sparking around us. It just figures that when suddenly I'm in danger, he's there to save me. In truth, I should be dead. I should be shattered to pieces. How fast was I going on that ATV when I smashed into those iron gates? Ninety? A hundred? And the men who were chasing me, where did they go? Somehow I'm whole. Maybe better than whole. There's no one I can talk to, not even my best friend, Gage. Gage hates Hunter. He wants Hunter's laboratory to be shut down. He thinks Hunter's a monster. And yet, if that's true, if Hunter's a monster...than what am I? I'm not sure what terrifies me more, the metamorphosis taking place inside me, or the intensely powerful connection with a guy whose heart and soul has become linked with mine.

"What?" He asked, pulling me from my daydream again. I chuckled, biting my lip again. "Are you thinking about me naked?" He asked jokingly. I blushed heavily, tucking my hair behind my ear. "No, of course not." I babbled nervously. "Well not of course not, but." He cut me off, laughing softly. "It's fine babe, relax." He grinned, rubbing my cheek softly. "You can picture me naked anytime you want. Well as long as you get to be naked with me." He purred. I blushed again, tucking my legs into my arms. "THE AFTERLIFE CAN BE A REAL BITCH, RIGHT?" "Henri-" I began, but Henri's hand snatched up mine and squeezed tightly enough to break bones. I bit my tongue to hold back a cry. It was a warning. "Maria didn't say anything about a couple of vampires wanting to meet with her," the green-haired warlock spoke after the area had stilled with electrified silence. I looked Henri's way, and that's really when our situation caught up with me. Wait... "Maria..." I murmured in remembrance, then sent Henri a glare. "Why are we here to see Maria Day? If you don't remember, let me remind you that I killed her friend. Hell, her master. She'll kill me when she sees me." Henri had the nerve to laugh softly. "You're already dead, Antoinette." "Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides. [COMPLETED, BEING EDITED] ...Suddenly, the door swung open, letting in some light. Now, I could see that I was in a dungeon or prison cell or sorts, but it was the only one. I can't believe, but I didn't have to look up to know who it was walking in. "Ian?" Elsie gasped. "Tanner?" Utica questioned. "Theo?" Cider asked. "Hey girls." Ian and Tanner said in unison. "Why are we here? Why are we chained up?" Elsie hissed, trying to yank at the chains again. "Look," Theo ran his hands through his hair, causing Cider to bite her lip. Probably to stifle a moan or something, I don't know. "We need to tell you something." "Promise us you won't freak out." Hunter said. I could feel his turquoise gaze looking down at me, but I just stared at the concrete floor and felt the water droplets from my hair drip onto my white dress shirt--wait, I wasn't wearing a dress shirt. Did somebody change me? Oh hell... "Oh yeah, I promise to trust my kidnapper." Cider huffed from right next to me, her words dripping with sarcasm. "Fine." Theo sighed. Gasps were heard throughout the room. I slightly glanced up, and instead of four boys stood four giant wolves. Cider and Elsie used their hands closest to Utica to stop her from blowing out our eardrums out with her scream. Once she quit, they let go, but that didn't stop the great Utica Ladino. "Holy sh*t!" Arianna, Utica, Elsie, and Cider are in for the ride of their lives after they meet the mysterious new boys at their school. Their normal lives turn a 180 just to see this new world of blood, laughter, fur, teeth, and crazy pregnant ladies.
