The time is 2040. The end is near, they've been told. The world is populated with normal people. Then there are others, like Sally. There is a distribution of 30,000 of them throughout the planet. They are different from everybody else because of their defining qualities. Everyone knows about them, normal and abnormal co-exist. They are superheros. Not like Marvel, or DC, they don't all use their powers for good or to fight injustice. Some of them create the injustice. But one thing is certain, there is a threat so great that every last one of them is needed. But not all of them necessarily want to go, especially Sally.

He found himself able to imitate an ability just by reading his ability journals which he had kept since he was 10, but that wasn't it - he could manipulate any ability within himself to his will, as long as he had it written in his journal. He then decides to find out the secrets that hide within it - its origins, along with why it chose him and no one else, and he won't stop until he finds the answers.

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. The story takes place in a small town surrounded by forest near the Oregon-California border. Of course it does, after all, the highest concentration of Qi is found in forests where ancient redwoods grow. You might be wondering, what is Qi? In Japan it is called "ki," and in India, "prana"." The ancient Egyptians referred to it as "ka," and the ancient Greeks as "pneuma." In Africa, it's known as "ashe" and in Hawaii as "mana." Qi, Prana, Ki, call it what you will, this energy is the life force itself.

I am not your typical 16 year-old girl going around obsessing over boy bands and clothes, I can't obsess over those things on a daily when everyday I'm in fear that the government will take me in. I have superpowers. Not the superpowers like fake magic, real superpowers. Everyone would do absolutely anything to be me.
