After your parents' tragic death by the dreaded villainous ironbeard, your older sister and you would've to protect each other, due to his threat to murder you two as well, what made you suspect the reason he murdered your parents wasn't because they were heroes and he was a villain, your father wasn't even a hero. You felt that there was a personal reason.
But that wouldn't be the biggest of your challenges, you were offered a place at the U.A Academy, so that you could infiltrate the students and the chances of him finding you diminish.
You immediately rejected the proposal, due to the bad view you had of the "best academy of heroes in Japan". You ended up accepting to go, since you realized that the best thing for the two of you was to stay apart until everything got better.
But everything just gets worse, when an old family secret comes up, kept from you from the moment you opened your eyes for the first time.
