Todoroki is a person in his third year, barely hanging alive. He became his old self again, shutting him self out, keeping his emotions inside. That's happened ever since he found out one of his own blood line wanted to kill him. He couldn't even process it so instead he shut himself out. He just needs to pass his last year, that's all.
