Ruby's grandmother always had her superstitions. So when her granddaughter, the child she raised since she had been born, so when Ruby heads off to Hogwarts her grandmother sends her away with a red hood to protect her from the werewolves.
Ruby took the hood just to make her grandmother happy, never expecting to need it.
Until she met Remus.

It all started in Harry's 5th year he saw her at headquarters for the order, well more like crashed in the middle of a meeting. Nobody knew where she came from; the only thing she had with her was a small bag and a pendant that took Sirius' breath away. She carried the Black family pendant.
