I don't think you need to know either of these tv shows to get into the story . But here's a quick summary of each :
Deception- Cameron and Jonathan are twins and they performed as illusionists and escape artists their entire live pretending to be one person. One day Jonathan is convicted with a crime he didn't commit, Cameron attempts to free his brother the right way but fails and ultimately gives in to using their skills to break his brother out. However it's been months and Jonathan betrays his brother, sick of living in the shadow of one person, he escapes with a mystery woman while Cameron is the one in jail for the crime.
White collar- Neal Caffery is a legendary thief who faked his death to free himself of the FBI and all other chains in New York. But doing so he also cut off all connection to the people he loved most.
