Helryn never thought there was anything special about him. He was just a normal boy living a normal life, or as much of one as an orphan could. Sure it got cramped and stuffy sharing space with the two dozen or so other kids like him, but that wasn't so bad. He had friends, a few decent meals a week, a roof over his head and clothes on his back. Nothing to complain about, right?
All that changed the day he woke up to find his ears sprouted into two points. Now scared, abandoned, and hunted by the King's soldiers for reasons unknown, Helryn's fight for survival took a drastic turn for the worse. Follow along as Helryn discovers who he is, his forgotten legacy, his fate in a hostile world, and maybe, just maybe, a home.

She looked back at the place where she had grown up, lived, and was supposed to die and lie in the ground there forever. All her life layed there, everything except the one thing she longed for the most. Freedom. "Nereyeny!" They were already looking for her. She couldn't afford to hesitate any longer. She turned on her heel and stepped into the darkness. She knew that no one would dare to chase her there. Only a fool. People were afraid of the cursed forest. Eyes watching your every step.
