The six elders of the human race made a deal with a demon and the deal was to give them unspeakable power to seal all the monsters away and when they die the demon could keep their souls but when the monsters are about to rise the demon would give their powers to different people and not collect their souls, the demon agreed, but they would have a marking on each of them to identify what they are so he gave them the powers of

They named themselves the torments of heaven and hell.
But now the monsters have started rising again and the powers of each torments have started going to teenagers

Seven years flew by as Kira watched everyone else from afar while training her angels for battle. Alex, Damon, and Caleb also taught classes and maintained security and safety for those who lived at the house containing a portal door leading to the magic school and the students living in its dorms. The special children, either born from Lucifer and Kira's bloodlines or those with ancestors who passed down pieces of Lucifer's shattered soul, had grown up, and after turning 18, they'd stopped aging physically. Just like their parents, they also continued to face obstacles of their own over the years, as with every passing year, their powers grew stronger as they trained how to use them. Though they were not the only ones. Lucifer was getting closer; they were getting closer. Kira could feel it, and so could Alice and Tara. It's almost like that strange feeling where a person feels as if someone is standing behind them, but when they turn around, no one is there. The intensity of those feelings crept closer and stronger with each passing year. It was only a matter of time before Hell's gates would open, and once more, Lucifer would come for Kira, as well as everyone and everything she loved, including Tara, Alice, and anyone standing in his way.
