Carli was walking in the crowded corridor of her school, when someone grabbed her hand and dragged her to the corner of a deserted room. It was Markian, who was panting and his expression was filled with guilt. Carli let go off her hand and was about to walk away when Markian held her wrist and gave an Guilt and apologetic look but did not say a word.
He breath out and said "I had a reason, I can explain! ",with his other hand, he held her shoulder but she Shrugged.
"so what you are saying is that I'm being silly ",Carli clarified and Markian shook .Carli added

Book #2 of Dueling Desires series It all started with a dare. Of course, it did. "Come on, Lemi. I dare you," Grace grinned, nudging me at the party. "I bet you wouldn't last five minutes in a room with him. He'd drive you crazy." "Please," I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "He's not that bad. Besides, I've seen worse." Grace arched an eyebrow, mischief dancing in her eyes. "I don't know. He's Aiden Finn. The guy has a way of getting under people's skin." I found myself standing by the bar, sitting next to the one person I had no business approaching. Aiden didn't even glance up when I sat beside him, completely focused on his phone. Typical. "You gonna keep pretending I'm not here?" I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. He finally looked up, slow and deliberate, and when our eyes met, there was that trademark smirk. "Didn't realize you were that desperate for my attention, Tsukumo." Ugh. That tone. Smug, infuriating, and annoyingly attractive-if you were into that kind of thing. Which I was not. "I'm just here to make sure your ego stays in check," I shot back, crossing my arms. "Not everything's about you, Finn." He chuckled, and for a second, I almost forgot why I found him so irritating. "You sure about that?" he said, leaning closer. His voice dropped to a low murmur, the kind that made my heart skip for reasons I'd rather not admit. "Because it looks like you've been watching me all night." I rolled my eyes, trying to ignore the way his words sent a shiver down my spine. "Please. I don't know why anyone falls for your act." Aiden's gaze lingered, like he was trying to figure me out, leaning back with that casual confidence I hated. "Maybe they know something you don't." I raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And what's that?" He locked eyes with me, his smirk fading into something more serious, more intense. "That you're just like me. You're scared of letting anyone in." For a second, I froze. His words like he could see straight through me. But no.

Jordan never noticed Juliet. Juliet had given up to get his attention. And if they end up hiding together in the same closet, he can't stop talking about himself. So how to shut him up? Kissing him... *** Jordan Decker is an arrogant senior in King Valley, a footballer and an A-grade student. All teachers liked him, girls adored him and guys wanted to be friends with. A total cliche. And like always, in every girly romantic book, he has the gorgeous girlfriend, luxury car and EGO as big as New York City. Juliet Maine has a lot on her plate, working as a waitress in Lory's Diner she is asked to open a new business in her hometown. After graduation she will fly to New York to study law at NYU, leaving her family behind and start her independent life. When she is pulled into her highschool's crush's love-life problems, she finally understands why falling in love with him was a bad idea. But she doesn't know that Jordan had noticed her from day one. *** PREVIEW into chapter 8 I climb up the stairs and find myself in a long corridor what spread to two directions. Matt's bedroom was on the east wing so I turn to my left and walk toward the last door in the end. But before I can reach half way, a door on my right opens and out runs Jordan. We bump into each other. "What the..???" I steady myself, grabbing his jacket and prevent myself from falling backward. "Run!" He says. "What?" I release him. "Run," he grabs my hand and starts pulling me with him. "Why would I...?" I turn around while I'm dragged toward the stairs and see Tiffany, all angry and face cherry red come throw the door Jordan had exited a minute ago. "You dirty bitch!" She yells at the top of her lungs as she sees me, Jordan's hand still gripes me. Amazing cover by @uniqueread.
