Tian Tengchao had a dream, to be a powerful cultivator and make a name for herself. However, two things stood in her way; her gender and the fact she came from no clan. That didn't stop her from training and going for night hunts as a boy.

One day, she happens to save the life of a young cultivator from a sea demon and immediately draw the attention of the famous twin Jades of Gusu. Recognising her talent, Lan Xichen offered her to become a Lan disciple and perfect her cultivation.

She, of course, accepted; unaware of what would follow her with that decision.
