My entry for the "Home Before Dark" contest. This entry is about an original fictional character (Aleta Hemming) who works as a journalist at a news company called NNB (National News Broadcasting). She faces a tough choice after a confrontation with her boss and puts her career in peril to do what's right: speaking the truth.

Jazmine Abbot has always been the girl who lets things slide-the quiet one, the pushover, the easy-to-overlook afterthought. She trusted too easily, forgave too quickly, and never demanded more than what people were willing to give. And for that, she paid the price. After being betrayed and humiliated, Jazmine is left shattered, her heartbreak on full display for the world to see. But as the whispers fade and the dust settles, one thing becomes clear-this will be the first and last time anyone plays her for a fool. They wanted her weak. Now, they'll regret ever underestimating her. 💕💕💕 Thank you all so much for your incredible support! Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that someone is plagiarizing my stories and posting them on other apps. If you come across any of these instances, please report them immediately. I want to clarify that I would never charge for these stories-they are something I genuinely enjoy sharing with you all for free 🫶🏾.
