Camp Delvista has many things that add to the overall charm of a sleep away camp. It's right on the shore of Delvista Cove, a massive lake in the middle of Vermont. We have cabins for every age and gender, each equipped with a counselor. Like many other camps, we have tons of fun activities like canoeing, hiking, a talent show, and a dance at the end of the four week period. Camp Delvista is the highlight of my summer for many reasons.
Number one, I have an unbreakable bond with the other seven girls in my cabin. Most all of us have been going to Delvista since the fourth grade, so we are soul sisters by now.
Number two, Camp is just so much fun. Everything we get to do is worth waking up at 8 every morning. Other than the mosquitos that buzz around the campgrounds, there is nothing that I don't like about camp.
Number three, the food is delicious. I mean, really really good. The chefs there have the best chicken tenders I've ever had, along with their famous salads, Friday barbecues, and lemonade. Everything is homemade, which adds to the charm.
And finally, number four. Two words, one name. Bentley Ashwood.
