To be completely honest, Alessia Oswald has no idea who she is; although she doesn't mind. After her mother's sudden death and the borderline kidnapping by the stranger who just so happened to be vacationing in London, 1892, she is left questioning everything: Why can't she remember the beginning of her life? How did she end up where she was? And who, exactly, is He?
With these questions and more, Alessia takes to space. After a near miss with a crowd of Judoon and an afternoon with Cleopatra (accompanied, as always, by the probably dead August and Oliver the cat), she learns to face her future. And, simultaneously, the man who wants to bring it to an end.

Amelia and Avalyn Pond were two Scottish girls who lived in an English village named Leadworth. when Amelia was seven and Avalyn was six, they met a strange man who called himself 'The Doctor', after his little blue box fell out of the sky, into their back garden. After saving them from a crack in their wall, The Doctor leaves with the promise of returning five minutes later, so when he returns later than expected, there's no wonder why they've changed. Despite everything, Amelia and Avalyn decide to travel the universe, through time and space, with The Doctor, in his TARDIS. As time goes by, The Doctor starts to notice that Avalyn's eyes catch the attention of everyone they meet, and it annoys him that he can't figure out why. But with cracks in the skin of the universe appearing, The Doctor can't seem to find the time to work it out.
